The consortium of D.B.Y. was involved in a great event: the international film festival of the project. D.B.Y., co-financed by the CERV (Citizens, Equals, Rights and Values) program of the European Union, aims to make youth express themselves and their opinion about topic of civic engagement through the innovative mean of the participatory documentary.

Many young people from all over Europe, partners and Greek citizens participated in the festival with their own unpublished short films, made as part of the project last summer and subsequently presented at local festivals in Spain, Romania, Austria, Italy, Ireland and Bulgaria (countries of the consortium).

Everyone gathered in Greece to take part in the competition that led to the victory of the Irish film ‘2 Years Gone’, whose moving plot and technical skill were decisive in the choice of the jury (made up of five exceptional jurors, personalities of leader of Thessaloniki in the artistic and cinematographic field plus the president of the jury, Panagiotis Kountouras), who unanimously declared the film the winner of the competition. Also awarded were the short film ‘Mornin’ by Sam Mullins and the Greek film ‘On the Road’. Finally, special mentions for the Bulgarian film “Brushstrokes of the City” and the Italian film “In Tutto e per Tutto”.

The work carried out by the partners is a source of pride and exemplary for all of Europe, not least because the documentaries have allowed young people to express their opinions freely and creatively on issues of civic engagement and have stimulated debate important with citizens of different European countries. What a great experience for all the partners! Now the project is about to end, but do not forget to follow the social media pages  (Facebook, Instagram and TikTok) for news and more information!
